Sikh Gurus Cannot Be Represented in AI, Says Akal Takht Acting Jathedar

Akal Takht Acting Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gadgajj has urged YouTuber @dhruv_rathee to immediately take down the AI-generated video depicting Guru Gobind Singh Ji and other revered Sikh Gurus. He firmly emphasized that Sikh Gurus cannot be represented in any form—whether through paintings, digital animations, AI-generated visuals, or any other artistic medium—stating that such representations go against Sikh principles and traditions.

According to Giani Kuldeep Singh Gadgajj, Sikhism does not allow any human-made depiction of its Gurus, as they hold a divine and spiritual status beyond physical representation. He reiterated the historical stance of the Akal Takht on this matter, affirming that portraying Sikh Gurus through artificial intelligence or other modern technologies undermines the sanctity of their legacy.

The Akal Takht, the supreme authority on Sikh religious affairs, has consistently maintained that the Gurus’ teachings and writings should be the sole focus of remembrance rather than any physical portrayal. This directive aligns with the longstanding Sikh belief that worship and devotion should center on their spiritual wisdom, not their external appearance.

This statement comes amid growing concerns over the use of AI in religious contexts, particularly the ethical implications of digitally recreating figures of immense spiritual significance. The Akal Takht's firm stance urges all individuals, including content creators, to respect Sikh traditions and remove any AI-generated visuals that attempt to depict Guru Gobind Singh Ji or other Sikh Gurus.
